Ten Heartwarming Offers Of Support On Crisis Heroes
As our user base expands, we’ve come to see many amazing examples of goodwill. Here’s ten examples of how people are putting their skills, services or kindness to the fore on Crisis Heroes.
1. Sewing To The Rescue
“I can teach people how to hand sew and embroid. It helps pass the time during the day really well. It’s very soothing and very creative. There’s a lot of satisfaction at the end after you spend a couple of hours hand stitching or embroidery.”
2. Generosity To The Max
“Personal - happy to have a chat with those who are feeling very isolated. From a video chat to a phone call or even just an occasional text, I understand that can help a lot. A morning coffee chat is always a good way to start the day.
Supplies/Groceries - for those who are immunocompromised, elderly or otherwise uncomfortable with leaving their home, I am happy to do shopping trips for you.
Home - For those struggling to maintain their gardens, remove their trash etc. I can help with socially distanced tasks.
Professional - I am a digital marketing strategist and happy to have a chat with small business owners who may be struggling with their online presence during this time.
Financial - I must preface this with saying it has to be rare/dire circumstances as I am in no way wealthy. However, if I am able, I can provide assistance if I can afford to help at that time. (food etc)
LGBT - for members of the LGBT community who are feeling particularly isolated, happy to have a chat and compare experiences.”
3. Master a new language
“Hello! I am more than happy to chat with you. I try to keep myself active, so happy to take you furry friends out for a walk or run. This is pretty random; but I can teach some Finnish language for you too.”
4. A Safe Space
“Hi, I would love to have a chat over the phone or online. Even if you prefer to text, I’m more than happy with that. Know that you can feel comfortable with me , no judgement whatsoever. I know it’s a tough time for many of us. I hope I can help lift your spirits. Take care and stay strong.”
5. Not Just Emotional Support
“If you own a small business and need help setting up online presence through a website, social media, or e-commerce platform, I work with a volunteer network that can help with that as well :)”
6. Mum’s The Word
“Hi, I am a French Mum and I am happy to help in this difficult time. If you need groceries pick up, a chat, or walking your dog. Please reach out.”
7. Pivoting To Help Others
“Studying full time so limited to the number/volume of errands. I don't drive but can ask my partner to help with an errand, schedule allowing.”
8. Dogs And Ongoing Friendship
“I am happy to help whenever I can, be it a phone call, walking the dog or when we get out of this creating a regular walking group or something similar.”
9. Inclusivity For All
“Things are tough right now, and no one should be going through any of this alone. I'm for equality, LGBTQ+ friendly and am more than happy to lend an ear. Please, reach out if you need.”
10. Giving Amidst Hardships
“Hi there, I have been home since March due to being immunosuppressed. I have been home schooling both my young men and completely understand and sympathise the ups and downs of being in lockdown. If you need to chat, feel free to message me.”
Even those struggling themselves are giving back. To this person, you’re amazing. To everyone on this platform, you’re all amazing. Remember, one small act of kindness can brighten someone’s day. To a person struggling, this can mean the world.
